My own experience of Complementary Therapies
The first Reiki treatment I received was a catalyst for my own personal transformation and journey in self-healing. I use Reiki as a tool for personal development and on-going self-healing.
The first Shiatsu session I received was very powerful. I felt deeply relaxed, re-energised and inspired to learn more about the oriental approach to health and well-being. I knew straight away that I wanted to train to work as a Shiatsu practitioner and started my diploma at the Devon School of Shiatsu in 2009.
Training and Qualifications
I studied Reiki over 6 months with Lesley Oates at Truro College (VTCT) and gained my Level 3 Diploma in 2009. I completed my Level 3 Reiki Master training with Lesley Oates in 2010 and am qualified to teach Reiki Levels 1, 2 and 3.
My professional training at the Devon School of Shiatsu involved monthly tuition, home study, regular practice (250 treatments), a 3 month work placement at The Hall for Cornwall, continuous assessment and on-going personal development. After 3 years I graduated with a Diploma in Shiatsu from The Devon School of Shiatsu in July 2012.
After undertaking a short course in Plymouth with On Course South West, I attained a Diploma in Indian head massage with The Natural Therapy Studio in 2015.
