My own experience of Shiatsu
The first Shiatsu session I received was very powerful. I felt deeply relaxed, re-energised and inspired to learn more about the oriental approach to health and well-being. I knew straight away that I wanted to train to work as a Shiatsu practitioner and started my diploma at the Devon School of Shiatsu in 2009.
Training and Qualifications
My professional training at the Devon School of Shiatsu involved monthly tuition, home study, regular practice (250 treatments), a 3 month work placement at The Hall for Cornwall, continuous assessment and on-going personal development. After 3 years I graduated with a Diploma in Shiatsu from The Devon School of Shiatsu in July 2012.
After undertaking a short course in Plymouth with On Course South West, I attained a Diploma in Indian head massage with The Natural Therapy Studio in 2015.
I studied at The Dartmoor Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy and worked as a voluntary counsellor at Young Devon and The University of Plymouth. I gained my Advanced Diploma in Humanistic Counselling (Level 4) in 2018.
